Staring at me with the eyes of a beast
In two-dozen forms it came to erase
My valor, my courage not the least.
Draped in black veils it first came at me with

Out of some legend of dark aged myth A knight of no virtue, ready to strike.
And then he was gone without even a clue Leaving the way open for others to take And so they did come into my limited view
Ready to kill as I lay there awake.
